Hiding ip address

Hello, as the title says im trying to hide my ip address but i need some help. i read some were that you need to use a proxy or something like that... i also read that theres paid programs you can use and they block your ip for you.

are you referring to when browsing? or under what circumstances? you can be a bit more specific. you know about proxy sites? you can go to a proxy site, google it, then do your browsing from there.

Hey thanks for reply. But yeah when I'm browsing the internet or downloading stuff.how does the proxy work? And how would I set one up. And thanks I'm about to Google them...

your basically browsing through their ip, the log of your ip may or may not end up on the proxy site, but the proxy sites ip is what is logged on the site you visit. also, the traces of teh sites you visit, other than cookies and browser cache are the fingerprints of the proxy site, not your ip. Its like a hop, your hopping through their ip first as you browse.
