Hijacked email address

In the past 3 or 4 days I have been receiving messages that seemed to from me from another of my email addresses. These messages have not been originated by me but are bounced back to me at that address.

Is there anything I can do about this? Do I have to cancel that address? I do use that address to mail to special people whom I do not want to be harassed.

I use Eudora as my email app. If I need to is there a way to completely emliminate this particular address or series of addresses from the internet?

Suggestions appreciated. BTW the address is not this one.

Welcome
You are a victim of spammers. Your address was hijacked and spoofed and tons of spam is being sent to others using your address. If this is the case closing the account, changing your password will have no effect.
The best thing to do, however, is to close the account and notify your friends about what has happened.

Or someone who has your email address has had their hijacked and their address book stolen...the rest is like richc46 says above..

Do you have an example of the emails? An example would be helpful to track down the specific spamming method which may determine whether or not your account has or has not been used maliciously other than to send spam to your contacts.
