I have a network setup with in our home, and am able to connect to it through windows 7 but after a bit of time all the other computers dissappear off of the network. I have lowered the encryption and allowed windows to activly look for networks which it does well but it will only do this for a short period of time. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Like I said the network will apper and I do have access to it on occassion but then disappers and will not return.

Hi A and welcome

I suspect you are using homegroup fro networking. If so you are using IPv6, which has been shown to cause slow downs, drops, and random other things. Homegroup is the only reason that you culd need to run IPv6. I is really easy to change it. To do that all you need to do is to go back into networking and set up a "workgroup" instead. After you have set it up and working you can disable IPv6, and then keill the homegroup. Workgroup is more stabile and easier to use

Let us know if you need help with setting that up
