I have a homegroup with two hard-wired desktops and one laptop on a wireless connection. Also networked is a WDTV media player with a WD Passport attached. Until today all the three computers were able to see the Passport, but suddenly the laptop cannot see it. I have recently downloaded some software that was challenged by AVG and I rejected it but it seemed to install a whole bunch of network TAP's. I have deleted them through control panel but still I cannot see the Passport on the laptop, although the others still can!
Any ideas?
One other thing baffles me. The hard-wired computers say they are connected to Network 2 but the laptop says just the router name. That's been the case for as long as I remember so I don't think this is part of the problem.
Windows 7, HP Pavilion, (rebooted a dozen times), TP Link router (also rebooted several times, to no effect).
