Hotkeys for sound volume?

Hello, as I have a ntb without buttons for controlling sound volume, I have installed a program called Sound volume hotkeys - it allows to control volume with hotkeys: WIN + UP (resp. DOWN). The problem is that Win 7 has "occupied" the hotkeys, is there a way how to change it? I do not need the function by Win 7 (maximize × restore/minimize) at all. Thx.

Tried using the options/settings in the program to change what key(s) are used? From the looks of it here (last screen shot),

it does.

Active keys is a different program, must run all the time to work, moreover it is only a trial version. I tried it but it is not a solution.
Is not there a way how to disable the windows hotkey? E.g. in registry...?

Just had a look at the manual for your laptop and I guess yours is one of those "select models" that doesn't have the volume and mute keys,

Adjusting the Volume
You can adjust the volume using any of the following controls:
■ Notebook volume buttons (select models only)
❏ To mute or restore volume, press the volume mute button.
❏ To decrease the volume, press the volume down button.
❏ To increase the volume, press the volume up button.

■ Windows volume control:
1. Click the Volume icon in the notification area (at the far
right of the taskbar).
2. Increase or decrease the volume by moving the slider up
or down. (You can also click the check box next to Mute
to mute the volume.)

1. Double-click the Volume icon.
2. In the Volume Control column, increase or decrease the

to Stormy13: You are right, the only way how to control sound on my HP Compaq nx6110 with Windows according to a manual is windows volume control (in tray), which is not very practical.

Sometimes I need win hotkeys, so disabling all the win hotkeys is not the best solution for me. I will probably try to find a similar program to Sound Volume hotkeys.

Another option would be to use a utility like HoeKey (admittedly very old, but I like it because of its configurability) or ZenKey to re-create those hotkeys you do use by yourself - but both f those are also apps that stay running all the time.
