Solved Hotkeys for Logitech MX710 Keyboard

I had to uninstall Logitech setpoint from my pc because it caused so many issues. I'm using the wireless MX 710 keyboard and combo M705 mouse with Windows installed drivers. I'm wondering if there is a way I can use the hotkeys on the MX 710 keyboard from some program or freeware? Just a thought.

I have never had any luck using Logitech Setpoint.

I just use the Windows 7 default drivers. It allows me to do what I need a mouse and keyboard to do.

I think a lot depends on which version of Setpoint you are using. I have G710+ that I've been using for a couple of years with the latest drivers, and a Logitech mouse. I'm using the latest version of Setpoint, specific to my keyboard and have had zero issues.

As MegaHertz07 suggested, download the newest drivers for your keyboard and get the version of Setpoint that is listed on the keyboard support page. You might have better luck with that.

But in answer to your main question, I know of no third party program that will allow you to make the programmable keys on a Logitech keyboard function. The only possible exception to this would be AutoHotKey. You could try it, but you may need the scan codes for the programmable keys. They may be hard to find, if AutoHotKey doesn't decode the key presses when setting up the hotkey settings.

I have just concluded Setpoint isn't worth the risk. I'm using the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with Windows drivers and it works great. It's stable and no BSOD or issues. All I lose is just a few special key functions - that I hardly use anyway.
