My laptop is SONY VAIO VPCEE4FX comes with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM installed.
My auntie from U.S gave this to me on my graduation last year.. i never reformat this since i got this laptop. Now, i want to re-install this OS on my laptop but the problem is i dont have the Operating System Disk that is installed on my laptop. I called my auntie on phone and she said she doesnt have the OEM Disk. I used "KeyFinder" to know the CD-KEY of this Operating System. What can i do to re-install my operating system? Can i download Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM legally from certain sites?

Please help! Thanks!

Hi,

The product key on the COA sticker required to activate an installation of an OEM install on a laptop is always:

- underneath the laptop
- inside the battery compartment of the laptop

Please confirm that this is the case. If so, follow this to get an installation ISO and perform the installation and activation:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html

The key you found with the key finder will not work as its the manufacturers factory OEM_SLP key - you MUST use the key from the COA sticker.

Regards,
Golden

There should be a Utility to Create the Reinstall disc for your system. Look through the Programs on your system for something with the Sony name and see if it included a Utility to make system discs.
You will also need all the drivers from the Sony download site for the hardware in that system. So it is best to get them first and copy them to a USB stick or DVD disc or external drive of some type.

I found the COA Sticker underneath my laptop. Can i use this cd-key to other version of Windows 7? Like Win7 Ultimate or i can use this only on Home Premium version?

You should also create the Recovery Disks as advised, just in case.
