how can I recover my windows 7? pls help me I really need help. pls

Hi please help me! I had to install Ubuntu in my computer to do a programming assignment in my holidays. So while installing Ubuntu and trying to create a dual boot system I selected the manually partitioning and went on with the partitioning and created a 10 GB partition then I wasn't sure about what I was doing so I quit the installation and tried to go into my windows 7 os but when I switched on my laptop again after the sony vaio screen all I got was a black screen with a dash kind of line blinking at the left hand side top corner. I then knew I have messed up something big. But then I tried to do the installation of the Ubuntu again and accidentally chose the lvm partitioning method, only after pressing install I realized that the this will erase all the data in the hard disk. So then I quickly manually switched off the laptop. And then again tried to install and then this time I chose the manual partitioning. But this time it showed some new partitions that I have never created. I know I was stupid and messed up my laptop. But I really need to recover my win 7 and the datat on it. Please help me I beg you all.

I will not lie, but the way I see it, the data might be heavily corrupted. The only thing I can think about is unplugging your HDD, installing an OS on another HDD, plug it in, then plug your HDD and see if you manage to get anything. If not, you might want to run a file recovery program, although I am not quite sure how much good that will do. You can always try!

The priority now is to recover whatever data co be recovered. There is no way of knowing how much or how little that might be. Then is the time to investigate the possibilities of restoring Windows. Anything written to the disk may further damage the data it contains. Far too much of that has happened already.

It is important to always have a backup of all important data. This doubly important before resizing or creating partitions or installing a new OS. This is the only way to assure your data. Recovery after data loss is always hit or miss.

Not backing up your data is the same as saying you don't care if you lose it.

You needed to ask us beforehand, not after repeatedly digging yourself in deeper. It sounds like you deliberately made choices you knew would likely overwrite your data.

The only hope is if you didn't partition over it. If you can look at where your Win7 partition was before and don't see a new partition sitting on it, then you can try running Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard - Video Help which is a simple undelete operation. If that fails you can try data recovery like Recuva. But its unlikely that your data is recoverable if it was at all partitioned over.

We can advise you better if we can see a camera snap of the drive map showing all listings in whatever you are using to view the partitions. Partition Wizard bootable CD is best, burned using Windows Image Burner. Attach snapshot file using paper clip in reply box.

You may be able to rescue the old partitions using TestDisk, which is freely available on the Hiren's Boot Disk and elsewhere. If you can recover the windows partition, you then may be able to rescue the windows install using a windows repair disk, which you can cut from any windows 7 machine of the same bitness.

If none of that works, you can run rescue progs from a CD, or from a machine you tether the drive to. Be aware that the more you work on the drive, the less chance you have of a deep rescue of the data, so plan your work and work efficiently.
