I am really starting to hate the folly of Microsoft mis-engineering. I have run OneNote for a few year and have many .one files. From time to time random corruptions occur and these are usually solved by a page copy. In any case, OneNote 2010 recently complained that something would not sync and asked to clear the cache. I allowed it to. It then re-synched but still had the problem with one of my .one files. The others were fine. Attempting to let it try to recover a second time (sorry don't remember the messages), it chose to "forget" all my open files.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, Microsoft, I HOPE I CAN FIND ALL MY SOURCES TO OPEN AGAIN.
I re-opened the one problem file which it still could not sync. The status is "Incomplete sync" and the erro message details are "This OneNote section file appears to be corrupted. OneNote may be able to repair the file. Avoid adding content to the corrupted section. (Eror code:0xE00001A1)
Walking the list of sections until finding one that says "This section is corrupted. Cleick hear to repair this section." i click and get a pop-up "OneNote cannot create a pre-repair backpu of this section. Do you want to continue repairing?"
FYI - there is penty of space on the source (NAS) and the PC (local) and permissions are granted for full CRUD.
I click Continue.
Is says "Repairing (filename) ..."
The status bar makes meager progress, like treacle, and never seems to finish.
The backup copy of the file is an exact binary copy of the one that is claimed to be corrupted.
Does anyone have a program recommendation for repairs? I tried purchasing one from some Brits tonight and they took my money (paypal) but sent nothing for registration so I cannot operate anything but demo mode (OneNote Repair Toolbox). Due to the time difference I am snookered (f'd) until morning.
