How can I repair my W7 OS?

I have noticed that my W7 OS 64bit has not been running correctly and would like to try an OS repair.
I have done a sfc/scannow for the command prompt and it has shown it has some corrupted files.
But how can I repair my OS yet keep the start menu and games screen intact?
I have over 600GB on my second D drive and I am worried I will have to reinstall everything which will take me days.
I there any way around this? I have no backup or restore.

Thanks, that appears to have worked perfectly.
Is there any advantage to doing a clean install over doing the upgrade over the existing W7 install?

The advantage is that you'll have a fresh clean install, but you'll need to re-install all your programs, import all your data, etc.

I have no backup or restore.

That should be your very first problem to resolve. If you have no backup for this data, than it can't be important to you.

Get a cheap 1 TB or larger external drive, and keep your data safe!
