What kind of Windows Movie Makes do you use??? I do not like Windows LIVE Movie Maker though.
I use Windows Movie Makes 2.6 on Windows 7 and when I use the Video Effect called "slow down, half" it slows the video by half, making it twice longer.

With Movie maker 2.6 picture becomes black after making a video clip. I have 64 bit 7, maybe that's a problem? Anyway, it does not work. I need something else that is freeware. Did try plugins for Vista Movie Maker, but they did not work too

Open Windows Movie Maker 2.6 and go to Tools and Options and go to the Advanced tab. See if the video format is set to NTSC because if it is set to PAL, it becomes black and white. Also check the Compatibility tab, maybe some components in there are causing this bugger. I suspect these plugins you have may be causing this errors so try disabling them and publish a movie to see it it gets any better.
