How can I unblock HTML file images in the preview pane?

Windows Explorer blocks all images in HTML pages when I view them in the preview pane, claiming it's for security reasons. Those files are stored locally on my hard drive. I'm viewing them while offline, and in fact, I created them myself, so there's no security risk whatsoever. I suspect that this has something to do with a component of Internet Explorer, even though I use a Mozilla-based browser now and disabled IE a long time ago. How can I stop this annoyance? Is there a registry tweak?

Maybe I didn't describe the issue clearly enough. In many cases, images are essential to the web pages I've downloaded, and are included as illustrations. For example, on my hard drive I have an HTML-based music dictionary that uses sound clips and images of music scores to explain various concepts of music theory. Those media files are stored in separate folders connected with the HTML file. The dictionary wouldn't be very useful without those media files. Normally I would simply open the dictionary in my browser, but sometimes I want only a short preview of my locally stored HTML files as I browse my folders with Windows Explorer.

In another case, the web pages I'm previewing are the locally stored copies of my own website files, which were created by me. What possible sense does it make for Windows to protect me from my own web pages by blocking the images in them, without offering an option to disable that "feature"?

Anyway, it doesn't matter whether the feature makes sense or not. I'm only looking for a way to defeat it. Some other file managers that are not based on Explorer will display the images, but many 3rd-party file managers follow Explorer's rules and block the images.
