My monitor seems to have alot of smudges and fingerprints on them you cant see it when its on but its is really annoying for me. What should i use to clean it with? Can i use a microfiber cloth and some water and would that damage the display?

Bongo's link was to Best Buy.

Monster cables are ridiculously overpriced. Their cleaning products may be the same. Like the cables, they probably work well.

I read someplace that distilled water is preferred over tap water.

I read someplace else not to use anything alcohol based, and don't use glass cleaner.

What I ended up using was the same spray stuff that I got from Sams Club to clean eye glasses and used the same cloth that came with it.

You can probably get something similar at Walmart or Target and you'll get a lot more for your money than you'll get for anything made for LCDs and sold at Best Buy. Guarantee that.

I use regular tap water from a small spray bottle and a microfiber cloth, and it does just fine. However, I suppose that it would depend on the quality of your local water supply.

EDIT: Use a spray bottle with a small spray pattern, which dispenses the water in a fairly fine mist, so that the water doesn't run down the screen and inside the monitor.

I spray the rag, not the screen.
