How do I add file types to "Right-Click->New->" in Windows Explorer

I find myself creating batch files on a regular basis. At the moment I have to Right Click, New, Text Document, rename...

It takes so long!

So I was wondering if there was any way to add a file type to that menu you get when right-clicking->new.

In case you don't understand what I mean (can't blame you), you know when you right click on Windows Explorer background, then click "New", then you are presented a list of file types (Word Document, Excel Document, etc), and you can select one? I want to be able to add "Batch file" to that list. I know it is possible as I've seen programs do it, for example, when you install Microsoft Office the file types appear there.

Also, as a secondary question, is there any way to remove file types from the list? I uninstalled a program and it left it's shortcuts there.. .

Could you post a screenshot of the list that still has the file types in it to help ID where and what this may be? In the mean time, you might see if this may be what you after to unassociated the file extension.
