How do I change JPEG to text file...add text and reconvert to JPEG?

I need to find out if I can change a JPEG to a txt file...insert random text and reconvert to JPEG in order to see how I can create a distorted/new image. Is it possible...and if so how?

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Not at all sure what your wanting to do exactly or accomplish

You can add text to the image with numerous photo editing programs including windows paint,
Of course you can't remove the text afterwards

Other editing programs like Free GIMP/ PaintNet/.. as long as you save the project file you a can edit the content you add.

What I am trying to do is open a JPEG in notepad to get the code...insert random text in order to change the image code...so when I reconvert to JpEG the inserted text has distorted the JPEG.

Hi,
I would suggest using a photo editing program and not notepad

Editing the image code using a text editing software often times renders the image unviewable. I would take ThrashZone's suggestion if it were me

This is a five year old thread, but I was curios. I used Notepad ++ and added some numbers to the end of the code and saved. The image was still viewable, but not distorted like the OP wanted.

If this is a watermark thing, then either use a stenography program or one of several tools here.

That's not distorted. I have PaintShopPro, which will distort an image in several different ways. Photoshop does too. TheGimp and Paint.net are free.

Don't distort the truth.

When you learn about computer/cyber security case law and pass the Bar examine, then perhaps you can present your case in a meaningful manner to convey the truth that I didn't distort the image as shown.

Case in point, the definition was presented in post #11 thusly.
