How Do I Change the contact picture in hotmail

I have hotmail. People have told me that you can change the generic "person" picture icon and replace it with whatever pic you want. the pic I want to change is the icon that represents a contact

Can someone provide me a link or detailed directions on how to do that?

In hot mail, look in top right corner you will see option and click on it.
There you will scroll down to more options and it will open up to manage your accounts.
You then can find how to change your theme or anything else you want.

Where you see you name at the top right hand corner there is a tiny little picture of your account. If you click on it you can change your picture, name, view your account, and link other accounts. Try this and see if it helps.
If you are trying to see pictures representing a contact you might go to the help center and ask them.

Check under photos at the top and take a look under Messenger social where you can add friends and photo's to your contacts.

Not quite, a further explaination of what I need

If you go to contact list under related places, it will show all your contacts. the default pic icon next to each name is a brown haired guy wearing a green vest(at least thats my interpretation.
What I am trying to do is change those icons next to the names of the contacts and personalize them with pics of my choosing. I have tried everything listed above but it doesn't change my contact icon pictures. I hope somebody out there has the answer

Use your snipping tool in start up and post what you are describing. Then we can figure out how to help you.

Outline what you want with the snipping tool, save as picture, upload unto this thread with the paper clip.

I just checked thru the help forums for hotmail and a windows live person just told me you can't modify contacts pics. they have to be modified by your "friends" in the spaces section.

I'm am pretty sure you can only modify or change yours not your friends / contacts!
