Solved How do I combine multiple drives?

My C drive (where Windows and my program files are stored) is nearly full. So, I created a new drive to move some things around. However, I fear I may be going about this the wrong way. Can someone tell me the best way to recombine the drive?

As you can see I've got C, D, F, & E all on the same disc. I would like to reconfigure my drives and combine where I can.

I hate to sound like a Newbie, but I need loads of help here. I have to admit I really need someone to take me by the hand and walk me through each step. I did do a search and I saw the Tutorials on partitions, but they don't look like they cover what I'm trying to do.

In addition to creating partitions on other drives as above consider also COMBINING new disks.

1) You need to BACKUP what you want off the disks you want to combine.

2) Convert the disks you want to combine to GPT disks

3) set as Dynamic Disks

4) now set SPAN volumes

So you should have a load of Disks which windows treats as a single Drive,

(Better than RAID 0 since you can use DIFFERENT capacity disks as part of a spanned set).

DISADVANTAGE - if you lose any single volume in the spanned set the whole kybosh is down the tubes -- but with decent reliable HDD's these days and IAKE decent backups -- by sets of folders - you don't need to backup the whole spanned data area in one go) you should be fine.

I use this as I have some music / multi-media folders that are larger than my 750 GB drives -- making a single music library works fine. You don't have to worry WHRE the music is physically stored - windows just treats this as a SINGLE volume.

You also don't need anything on Mobo -- this is a standard Windows function.

Note don't include the BOOT volume as part of the spanned set.
