I formatted the recovery disk built in to the motherboard. I was gonna create a MS-DOS Startup Disk, but the checkbox for it was grayed out. I can't even click on it.
Please help.

That recovery disk is useless since i have Windows 7 now. Plus i'm gonna put MS-DOS on that disk. But i do not have a floppy drive.

I think its the "recovery disk built in to the motherboard" part thats confusing people. Most motherboards don't have a "disk" built into them, the hard drive is external and connected by a cable. If you would post a snip of your expanded disk management window that might help. Also filling in your system specs in your profile would help.

Why do you want an MS-DOS boot disk? It's not a substitute for a recovery disk. You can't use MS-DOS to fix a Win7 installation because DOS can't read NTFS. You don't need separate recovery disks if you have bootable Win7 install media (DVD or flash drive). Win7's installation program can repair a broken install.

If you really want a DOS boot disk for nostalgia or experimental purposes, look at DOS remakes like Freedos.
