I am running Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. Using WMC as the front end to my HTPC.
SPECs (just incase)
MB: MSI 945gm3
CPU: Core 2 duo E4700
RAM: 2GB
Onboard video for the moment this still a work in progress.

Storage:
3ware 9500s-8 : 8 Port raid card. 5 1TB drives in a raid 5 setup.

My Issue:
With WMC up and running: after I insert a DVD it auto plays the dvd. I would like to disable this. Anyone have any idea on how to?

I know that I can disable / control the auto play from control panel. But this does not effect the auto play feature with WMC up and running.

It would be nice to be able to disable this and have it default to DVD Fab instead of auto playing. I am going to using a remote only on this. I am going to be setting up the remote for mouse control but it would just be one less set if possible.

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Hi there,

According to this, you should be able to change it by adjusting the AutoPlay settings in Control Panel. Please double-check that you've tried all relevant settings there, such as un-checking the box marked "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices."

I have everything adjusted in the AutoPlay to take no action as well as I have uncheck "Use AutoPlay for all media". Outside of Media Center everything is as it is supposed to be. Nothing Auto Plays. But when I have media center up and running and I input a DVD it still auto plays. I guess they just assume since you have media center open and you are putting a dvd into the system that you want to play it. I will keep messing around with it and see if i come up with anything. If anyone else has any ideas I will give them a try.

Its not that big of a deal to get this solved. It would just be a minor annoyance, and if this is the only issue I end up with I can live with that.

Still haven't came up with a good solution for this. But what I am going to do is just load any dvd's on my Back end server and just strictly play them on the Front end clients. Since I am not using my back end for video playback I really don't need to keep a copy of MCE UP.
