How do I enable wireless? BIOS check says hardware is fine.

I have a 1 yr old dell vostro 3400 and for most of that year the wireless worked perfectly. Recently I have no wireless: I cannot set up or connect to anything, and nothing is visible. When I go to control panel\network and internet\manage wireless networks, is says "Wireless is not currently enabled." I know about the little toggle on the laptop's exterior, and that is in the correct setting. I ran a hardware check from the BIOS and all relevant hardware is properly working. When I go to registry editor though, some of the files in System\CurrentControlSet\services\Wlansvs\Parameters have no values set to them (I didn't set them like that).

Do you have any ideas on how I can reenable wireless or is there a list of default working values for those files?

Thanks!

This may help and won't hurt.
From the cmd prompt/admin run sfc /scannow and see if it give a clean bill of health. In the past have you run any registry cleaners or tune up programs? Have you had to remove and virus or the such?

Right click on My Computer - Manage - Device Manager.

Check whether the Wireless adapter is enabled or not. Do you see a red or yellow sign against it's icon?

If the wireless adapter is disabled, enable it by right clicking on it's icon and select Enable.

@Layback bear, I gave that a shot but it said I'm not an admin running a console...I'm definitely an admin though.

@rraod
I did that, and it says my adapters are fine but that I have no drivers installed for the network controller. That sounds important...is it? I can connect fine to ethernet and get internet through that though.

You have to right click the cmd app and select run as administrator. Did you do that?
