How Do I Find A Middle Mouse Button on a Laptop?

I have a Dell Laptop and on Windows 7. How do I activate or find my middle mouth button? I have been into the 'Buttons' tab in the 'Mouse' option in the Control Panel. I cannot access my mouse from the 'Devices and Printers' as it is a laptop.

Any help?

Hello KTG and welcome to Seven Forums.

I think a lot will depend on your touchpad software. If you have a Synaptics touchpad you could probably create a tap zone on the touchpad itself that will function as a middle click. Or you could use an AutoHotkey script to do a middle click when the left and right touchpad buttons are clicked at the same time. This article gives more info.

The 'Touch pad Configuration' options should show up in 'Mouse Settings'; it appears that the 'Touch pad drivers' are missing. I recommend you to install the 'Touch pad drivers'; it may allow you to access the touch pad settings. You may find the following steps useful:
- Click dell.to/YFr4GW to access the 'Drivers and Downloads' section on 'Dell Support Website'
- Enter the system 'Service Tag' and tap 'Enter' > Select the 'Operating System' installed in the unit > Expand the option 'Input' (Note: 'Touch pad drivers' are listed under the 'Input' category)
- Download and Install the driver (It should appears as 'Synaptics or Cypress') > Restart the laptop

If the touch pad does not work, try to enable the 'touch pad functionality' using the 'radio button': Disabling or Enabling the Touchpad Using the Hot Key | Dell

To access the 'Touch pad settings', you may follow the steps listed below:
- Click 'Start Icon' > Type 'Mouse' (Without quotations) in 'Search programs and files' > Tap 'Enter' > 'Mouse Properties' box appears (A similar image should appear; small differences may be observed based on different model types)

Most of the time it is asociated as the right edge of the touchpad. So try dragging ur finger down with half your finger on the plastic and half on touchpad
