How do I fix the the startup repair and get it back online?

Boot into System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair repeatedly to see if it will start.

Report back.

Startup repair was my first step at 930am CST this morning.
I received these errors:
ProblemEventName: Startup RepairOffline
ProblemSignature 07: NoBootFailure

The issue is, the repair is (technical term) no workie.

I ran these diagnostics:
C:>SFC /scannow /offbootdir=c:\/offwindir=c:\windows
C:\>set
C:\>diskpart
> exit

Triggers:
Windows updated automatically (my story and I am sticking to it)

Action:
At boot, Startup repair appears and the system never fully boots.

I need to restore the proper boot files for Win7Ultimate, 32b, Office2010 (which was prolly the source as most windows updates, include security breaches for office 2007 ).
HW=HP8440

I am gonna truncate this because there were zero errors until the end:
Startup repair has tried several times but cannot determine the cause of the problem.

It wont boot off the disk or prompt to install, either.

I tried every available date on my recovery list. It failed every time.I guess, I should have mentioned that was my first step at "recovery"
This is an advanced error.
Let's pull out the big guns.

What recovery are you referring to?

Did you have a System Image backed up?

Is this factory preinstalled Win7 with a Recovery Partition?

What disks do you have?

Recovery attempts that I have tried so far= restore last know working configuration,
system image recovery; using the latest available system image,
System Restore using
running the C:\>sfc /scannow /offbootdir=F:\ /offwindir=F:\windows

"Is this factory preinstalled Windows 7 with a Recovery Partition?" Short answer=No. It was rebuilt, upgrading it to Win7Ultimate, with Office 2010. How do I find where the recovery partition is? Where is the standard recovery partition?

You would only have a Recovery Partition if Win7 came factory-preinstalled.

Your description of the problem and how it arose is cryptic and too hard to understand.

Please explain exactly what has happened, how you think it arose, what was done prior to Win7 becoming unbootable.

Next burn to CD free Partition Wizard to see if you have the 100mb System Reserved partition and that it is correctly marked Active. If not click on it to Modify>Set to Active, OK, Apply.

If you don't have that partition, what partition is currently marked Active?

You can click on your Windows 7 partition to Explore your files. If there, you can copy them out now this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

If you have a partition marked Active, from the Disk tab select Rebuild MBR, OK, Apply, Restart. Report back.
