The other day my PC decided to run a check disk on boot. I sat and watched as it removed and restored six or seven AMD entries, one of which was an exe. I have had screen flash in some programs on this system from day one and it was part of my reasoning (it was recommended by a Microsoft tech) from switching from AMD to Nvidia. Once I installed the nvidia card I still had the screen flash but it wasn't as bad. I get the flash in Firefox, Adobe Reader, Blender CAD, Microsoft Flight Simulator X and on and on. I get the "Driver has stopped responding and recovered errors and in certain instances I get a blackout that can only be fixed with a reboot.
The other day I began to suspect that the old AMD software could be the problem but here's the deal. I reinstalled Windows 7 on a new hard drive when I installed the Nvidia video cards. This HDD has never seen the AMD drivers. How did this happen and how can I remove the AMD software from my motherboard? I guess?
