Hi there,

I recently bought a DVD from an authorized dealer. He sold me a DVD containing 32bit and 64bit Microsoft Office 2010. After starting the DVD, I open it up and i see the following list of directories:

_Office 2010 English language pack x86 x64
Access.en-us
Admin
Catalog
Excel.en-us
Groove.en-us
Infopath.en-us
Office.en-us
Office64.en-us
OneNote.en-us
Outlook.en-us
Powerpoint.en-us
Proofing.en-us
ProPlus.WW
Publisher.en-us
Rosebud.en-us
Updates
Word.en-us
Setup.exe
Microsoft Office 2010 box.jpg
Microsoft Office 2010 DVD label.jpg

Now when I run the setup.exe, it just executes the 32bit office setup which gives an error that I have installed Microsoft Access Database 64bit and therefore, it can't stay alongwith the 32bit of Office you are trying to install, here is the error;

---------------------------
Setup Error
---------------------------
You cannot install the 32-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 64-bit Office products installed. These 64-bit products are not supported with 32-bit installations:

Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English)

If you want to install 32-bit Office 2010, you must uninstall all 64-bit Office products first, and then run setup.exe in the x86 folder. If you want to install 64-bit Office 2010, close this Setup program, and then either go to the x64 folder at the root of your CD or DVD and run setup.exe, or get the 64-bit Office 2010 from the same place you purchased 32-bit Office 2010.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Now that I have installed 64bit Access database engine and I want to install also a 64bit Office for my Windows 7 64bit operating system. How do I force the setup.exe to run the setup for 64bit Office?

One of the guys on forum told me that there will be a x64 folder in my DVD, but I don't see it. ( I have enlisted all directories above in my DVD).

I also tried to open Office64.en-us folder, and I saw the following two executable files;

Office64MUI.msi
Office64MUISet.msi

When I opened the first one, it gave the following error;
---------------------------
Microsoft Office Shared 64-bit MUI (English) 2010
---------------------------
Error 1713. Setup cannot install one of the required products for Microsoft Office Shared 64-bit MUI (English) 2010.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

And the same error comes for the second MSI file, except it says MetaMUI instead of just MUI.

Now please guys help me installing 64bit version of Microsoft Office 2010. I will be grateful to you.

Thank you for reading and for your time.

Uninstall your existing office installation and try then.

Though the should autorun to setup, or give an option to choose between run setup.exe or open files.

I tried to uninstall my existing installation (Microsoft Office Database Engine 2007 x64). But when I do so, the setup continues but it never asks me which office you want to install either 32bit or 64bit, it installs 32bit automatically.

When it is installed, then I am not able to install office database engine which is 64bit.

The problem is both cannot stay along because database engine is 64bit whereas setup installs 32bit. I just want to install 64bit office so that both (access database engine 64bit and office 64 bit) stay along.

The problem is that setup only installs 32bit even its DVD says "Office 2010 Professional Edition 32bit-64bit"

presumably along with the dvd came a license key , so is it possible to download a trial of office x64 install it then activate via the key you have.

Office 2010 Products - Office.com

this page shows if the trial version can be activated

Convert a trial version of an Office 2010 suite or program to a full retail version - Project - Office.com

you may still find an install error if you haven't removed the previous installed office.
also is it possible you have a trial version installed bloatware that came with you pc when new.
