Hello here is my problem, hopefully you guys could assist me.

Currently I have my computer set to where when I close the laptop, its not supposed to do anything like turn off or go to sleep, yet when I close it while I'm playing music, the music will play for a minute then stop and start again and continue to skip again and again repeating this process as if it were a really bad cd. The problem persists until the second I open it back up again, at which point it starts playing again. Again, it is not asleep or in hibernation.

Any ideas or suggestions as to what may be the cause or fix?

Did you set a certain time for a CD drive to switch off?
At least the hard disk can do this without going to sleep or hibernation,
check your power plan,go to the advance settings,
choose the options that apply the time for the device.

i have my laptop power settings set to Do Nothing when I close the lid, but my problem seems to only happen when I move my laptop. I read somewhere on the box that it has something that stops and locks the hardrive incase its dropped, but this thing is way to sensitive if this is what it is.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yes, even after setting the power settings to 'Do Nothing' when the lid is closed, it appears that some laptops have a hard disk protecting software that actually stops the drive when any laptop movement is detected, in order to protect the drive from possible damage. HP have a tool called ProtectSmart found under 'Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection', and Lenovo have a tool called ThinkVantage found under 'Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Lenovo - Airbag Protection'.
Set these to a lower 'Shock detection sensitivity' or similar.
