Solved How do i make my C: bigger by taking some space from D:

Title says it all.
But i saw some on websites that they use partition manager

But i don't know what will happen if i defrag my system ( Yeah, i'm a noob )

So if someone out there would take their time just to help me will be most appreciated.


But if you have another method, would be happy to know.
And one thing. Please don't make your explanation a little complicated. Cos' as i said, i'm a noob

If you fill in your system specs, we could provide better answers. At least tell us what kind of drive/drives you have in your computer. If they are not new Solid State Drives, then you should defrag them, but that's unrelated to disk space.

You mean like sata, scsi or ata right?

Hello,
Type in to a google search the following eliminate the quote mark.
"How to setup SSD boot drive with secondary hars disk optimization"
This is a proceedure by KShiza1 that show you how to do what you want.
It's meant to be used with a SSD and a HHD but it can also be used between HDD's.
I suggest you print it out make sure to make back up of all the files you want to transfer

Yes, that's very helpful. What you can do is download something like Partition Wizard, which is free, and can let you resize your C drive by stealing some space from D. You can install the program, or download the bootable .iso image to burn to disc and use. Either way should work.

As a word of caution, anytime you mess with partition sizes, it is always good to have your data backed up...just in case something goes wrong.

If that is a desktop system, I'd consider adding another drive to be your new D drive. If it is a laptop, then this may be your only option, aside from replacing the drive entirely.

Looks good! In the future, if you can make recovery discs for your computer (some OEM systems have a tool to create these recovery and restore discs), then you wouldn't need that 7 GB or so partition in the beginning either.
