Solved How do I make W7 stop thinking I'm not the admin? :(

This is just weird.

I have a Compaq CQ5600F desktop, parts unchanged from the PC store except for 2GB more RAM, and W7 Home Premium.

I have the only account active on my copy of W7, it's the admin, but a telnet-client game program that I use for MUCKing literally cannot be opened unless I right-click and "run it as administrator." I can pin and unpin the application itself to the taskbar, but every time I've tried to open it through plain ol' double-clicking it just doesn't happen.

Please help! Any assistance is appreciated :)

You should be able to create/edit the shortcut for the program to run as the admin. If there's no Start menu shortcut, create one (or on the desktop) and go into the properties of it. On the compatibility tab you should see this option.

Thank you so much, that fixed it! :)

I just have to remember to right-click on the program icon in the taskbar and make sure Run as administrator is checked :)
