Hello!

I use WI-FI enabled ADSL router to get internet access and share my adsl internet connection with my other Wi-Fi enabled devices. I use encrypted connection. Sometimes my friends connect their Wi-Fi device to my network. So how do I protect my PC and other devices against malware spreading via Wi-Fi? I use Norton internet security 2012. It can protect me in this situation?

Killer bee, you should be fine with NIS 2012 as long as you keep it updated. The new version 2012 seems to be less intrusive that the prior versions, At least from my viewpoint.

Also, if you have sharing turned off on your drives, no one should be able to put anything on your pc.

As suggested above, this is not possible if your PC does not allow sharing through a network. That's the only way someone could transfer files onto your computer wirelessly.

Just check to ensure that this option is disabled.

First check:
Got to Control Panel - Local Area Connection / Wireless Network - Properties - Uncheck "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks"

How to change the settings for shared folders: How to disable simple file sharing and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP

Thank you friends your help. I'll check my network share settings. Now I'm on the mobile.
