Sorry if I missed something but I had the same problem about a week ago.
While Firefox is open go to the little emblem where the search box is and tick on it. Go to manage search engines and remove the ones you don't want. Reboot and then search and see if anything is still around. I use Search Everything to do that.
Caution: If you use Search Everything be very careful it does go into the registry. Now I got AVG Search engine to get rid of.

Hiyya Layback have a go with my solution mate it works for me and I have been down that AVG road.

Quite frankly I get sick to death of those little add ons that come with things like the first Adobe download and CC - plus those sneaky ones that look like the download you want only to find you are downloading some crap tune up or reg cleaner - if you not vigilant

Right on 4WD exactly what I found out through sheer frustration with that Symantec stuff left over after you THINK you have got rid of the bloat that contains those month trials of software.

Only I did it just by looking at the HKEYs and working it out.

BabylonLTD. I really don't care how great your product is or isn't. When I download something I want and spend the time to make sure I don't get such things (check, un-check) as required and still get the damn thing; I will never use your product. That's the name of that tune. Have a nice day.

I got sucked in some how to AVG Tool Bar downloading Drive Sweeper. Yes I did all the make sure you don't get extras. Add 2 more malware to my list. Drive Sweeper and AVG are gone forever. When I indicate, I don't want that is exactly what I mean.

ell Babylon I must back up Layback Bear perhaps you have nothing to hide or mislead I perssonally find it just plain intrusive and quiye annoying.

I didn't say anything before because I did not and do not like being negative about anything.

Frankly I find anything that downloads so unobtrusively just plain unwanted. Whats more I don't like the way that these add ons are so small and easily un-noticed when downloading some apps that one so easily have them on without even realising one has downloaded the apps.

The point I am making is that I want to go on the net and if I want to look at ads and have things helping look for things then I would go look for stuff that will do just that - not have it slipped in via downloads for apps that I want.

I think I pay enough money now for what I get - putting up with side ads for things I do not want or ever likely to need and I think I probably speak for the majority!

Well I thank you for your candor it is refreshing I have to admit and yes you are right re ads everywhere but I have to say for myself it is very tedious all the same.
