Solved How do I restore my File Permissions?

I no longer have the "Write Permissions" that I had before. Nor can I "See" all the folders that I used to. Of course, I suspect I have shot myself in the foot. Again. . .

Yes, I have tried a Registry Backup or two with no luck. I took this snapshot of my C Drive "Properties" via Right Click and select Properties, then Security.

Because Permissions is Ghosted Out I presumed I was not logged in as an Administrator Account. But, I'm the only one on this account and never had this dilemma before. Any assistance you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Repair (All in One) has an option to restore all file permissions, it runs best in Safe Mode with Networking, logging into your normal admin-level account. Let us know when & how you solve this, thanks!

Simply typing or pasting a URL into the Quick reply box should parse the information and make a link unless "Automatically parse links in text" option is not checked

You can use this code in the attachment to add a URL to your post. Add the URL into the red section and comment on it in the black section. It'll look like this. I like making my text red for a link.

That option will work. But I like the option of changing text color and size, bold, italic and underline. Just my two cents.

It's actually a good idea not to change the attributes of links as it can cause confusion to other users as to what are links and what are not

That is actually the reason I change my link color making the link easy to see so that there is no confusion. Cool that you noticed that.

Alas, after spending quite a while running "Windows Repair (All in One)" I continue to have an error box pop up saying,
"Access to C:\Users|FirstShirt\AppData\ocal\. . . \data\cachedata.dat was denied."


Also, when I Right Click on C:\ drive in My Computer and navigate to the Security tab here is the result:

"Special Permissions" The checkbox for Allow or Deny are ghosted out and not selectable.

Of course, when I ran the maintenance program I followed it to the Letter of the Law. I powered down the laptop and removed the battery, etc., ran MBAM before I started, and adhered to all the recommended items within the program.

P.S., I read the link explaining how to attach and embed a JPG photo via the Paperclip icon, but it didn't seem to cooperate with me. I had picture illustrations of the two errors above... The largest one was a mere 94kb.

Another way to do that is to hit the Print Screen (prt sc) key to take a shot of the error. Then open paint past it in and save it. Go back to your post click Go Advanced and click Manage Attachments. Browse to the image file and select it and click Upload.

I still can't see all the folders in the C: Drive. such as, C:\user

Take a shot of your C:\drive And show the Folder Options "View tab" as well in the screen shot. It should look something like this.

Write permissions. . . When I open My Computers and Right Click on C:\ drive, then select "Security" tab the Special Permissions check box is Ghosted Out. I can not select it.
