How does one change the kbps speed in RealTek Audio Manager?

How does one change the kbps speed in RealTek Audio Manager?
I have this setup:
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, I5, 6GB RAM, and
RealTek HD Audio Manager:
Audio Driver Version:6.0.1.6586
DirectX VersionirectX 11.0
Audio Controller:HD Audio
Audio Codec:ALC892

This is what I'm doing:
Right-click on the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon in the system tray. Select "Sound Manager."
Select the "Default Format" tab. Select a sample rate and bit rate from the drop-down menu.
I choose 16Bits, 192,000 Hz.

Click "OK" to close the audio manager(there is no 'OK', I 'X' out the program).

Right-click on the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon again. Select "Sound Recorder."
Press the "Start Recording" button to start recording.
It records at 92kbps, not what I have chosen.
How do I get this to record at the kbps that I choose?

What do you need 16 bit 192KHz for? CD standard audio is 16 bits 44.1Khz. I have a recording studio and record at 24 bit 44.1Khz but when I do final mixdown its to the "standard" 16 bits 44.1Khz.

The only thing higher bit rates are going to do for you is create bigger music files.

I just thought that the higher bit-rate would result in a better sounding file. I've tried the other settings, it still records at 92kbps. How can I change this?
When I rip a CD via WMP, I can record in WAV, 1411.2 Kbps.

If you burn a standard audio CD, the format is 16 bits, 44.1Khz.

I can't hear any difference, in the bitrates, in my studio monitors.

Here is the RealTek HD Panel that you set the bitrate.

Yes, I'm aware of that RealTek HD Audio Manager panel. That's where I'm going to change my settings, but it's not 'taking'. No matter what setting I try, it still records at 92kbps. See attachment.
BTW, what the does the telephone handset icon in the stereo mix mean?

I just tried my Sound Recorder. It saves it as a "wma" file at 96Kbs, which is a compressed file, similar to an MP3, not a full fidelity wav file. That is why it records at 96kbs.

If you want full fidelity (wav) files, use a different recorder, such as free and popular Audacity recording program.

Hmmmm....that seems sorta strange, that RealTek would display the options of recording at different
speeds, but always defaults to 92kbps.
I'll try the Audacity recording program.

Does downloading and using the Audacity program make my RealTek HD Audio Manager not work anymore, or can those two programs exist at the same time on my PC?

The bitrate that the Windows Recorder uses is a function of Windows and not the RealTek sound card.

Audacity is a recording program. It does not affect the sound card.
