How & from where to download turbo c software for windows 7?

I need C compiler on my laptop. When I had XP, it was there. But on 7, it isn't. And I am not sure if 7 will support Turbo c. I am thinking about Visual Studio 2008 C. But I don't know how I can download it. Please give some link. Or can you please recommend me names of similar softwares. And if possible, links too. Thanks.

Visual Studio is a commercial product that you need to purchase. MS does have Visual Studio Express that you can download for free from here: Visual Studio Express

Try a google search for "open source c compiler for windows 7" or "free c compiler for windows 7". You'll get lots of hits to look into.

Update: I installed digital mars c/c++ compiler & after installing, it is not appearing anywhere-neither on desktop, nor in programs & features. I am not sure, but I think maybe win 7 doesn't support this compiler. Maybe it's a thing about 64 bit and 32 bit. Mine is 32 bit. Should i format & reinstall win XP?

I would investigate a little more, maybe even try a different compiler rather than format and re-install XP, that seems like an excessive move. The docs I read on the Mars site say the compiler only runs under Win32 which means it should work fine with either Win 7 32 or 64 bit.

I DLd and unzipped the free 8.56 version of the Mars compiler. The reason you don't see it anywhere is because it doesn't install, you simply run the compiler from the dmc\bin folder. The free version doesn't include an IDE, only a command line compiler/linker. Read the Readme file that you find in the package. The version that includes the IDE costs $44.
