I am getting rediculus temps. Running prime95+ my temps rise to 79C. I have tried several temp monitors and seem to have a 10C differential between speedfan and Coretemp. Now I have SIW which I like.

I am currently cooling with a H50. Intel 930.

Where should my temps be and which temp monitor should I use?

It's hitting 76 to 79. It seems to be close to speedfan temps. Nor is it overclocked. Everything is stock.

I was having the exact same problem and solved it by reseating the pump onto the CPU. If it is not exactly lined up right, meaning all of the tabs on the pump must be underneath each corresponding tab of the retaining ring, you can have problems. Mine was sitting up around 90c at idle. See this post -

Solved Corsair H50 and AMD Phenom x4 965 Hi Temps with no OC - Windows 7 Forums

Also this is the 1st step that Corsair recommends trying. My temp for an AMD 965 black edition (OC'ed to 3.8) are in the low 40's at idle and my 1090T black edition (OC'ed to 4.1) sits at a steady 18c at idle. Using a crosshair IV MB, H50 push/pull config., 2X200mm top fans, a 200mm side fan and a 200mm front fan.

Real Temp is good..read the doc with it so you can set it up correctly..and if you're really keen you can lap both your CPU and the heatsink (prolly painful with the Corsair).
Then use a good heatsink paste and as little as possible .
