How kill popup in Outlook2016 "Could not locate the specified server "

Recently upgraded from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2016. I have a Win7-64Pro

Every few minutes I get a popup that says:

"Microsoft Outlook
Could not locate the specified server. Please verify the name is correct."

I am on a home network and don't use a server.
How do I get rid of this?

Sounds like Outlook is trying to connect to an email address where the server for that email doesn't exist or the server address is invalid. Since I don't use Outlook I'm not sure.

If you dont use a server to get email then why do you need an email client?

Thanks guys,

F22Simpilot was right.

Had I clicked on the "Details" of the error message (Duh!) I would have seen that Outlook was complaining about a secondary Gmail.com that I rarely use.

Apparently when migrating from 2007 to 2016 something got scrambled. When I deleted that particular email account the error message went away.

I'll set it up properly tomorrow and hopefully that will be ok.

Everyone have a good week,

Rob

Cool. Glad I was able to help. If you would, click the scales icon in my helpful post and leave me some post love. I rarely get any. LOL

LOL Yeah, I didn't either until I found it it's how you can "rank up" and look all cool. :D I guess that's a pretty nifty addition to this board that runs vbulletin. I run my own website forum but it's phpBB-based. I did have an extension that added a like button, but I thought it was too facebook-like and got rid of it. If this forum one day goes Xenforo there will be all kinds of stupid trophies and crap. I can not STAND the Xenoforo platform. But using vbulletin you're more apt to using it since the conversion is easier. And Xenforo is made by the creators of vbulletin.
