How much memory does your browser use?

FF 4 B7. Two windows (using three monitors with two monitors having its own FF window) with one having four tabs, and one having five tabs. 283K.

Just testing & finding what the limits are.
Just changing a few options in preferences to do with history & JavaScript I was able to open nearly 1300 pages.
Knowing how to do that will be handy on my laptop or when the bandwidth is low.
Normal browsing I often have up 20 to 30 tabs open but I probably average around 8 tabs.

FF memory usage varies widely - it depends on the manner in which one goes about browsing the web and the type of content within the pages visited.

My usage is usually around 280,000K but it has been as high as 900,000K. I usually have 8-9 tabs open in one FF window and two or three other FF windows open as well (I love multiple monitors). I also never clear my cache or deleted my history (note, I don't necessarily recommend such) in addition to having FF up for a few days at a time, with no restarts, if there are no new builds (I'm running FF4.0b8pre x64).

The easy way to count bookmarks in a folder is to open the folder & you are warned
you are about to open 1,298 bookmarks.

So these 1,298 tabs are from bookmarks that you have created in Opera?

mine doesn't use a fixed amount - it changes all the time depending on how many tabs i have open and what i'm doing in them.

So these 1,298 tabs are from bookmarks that you have created in Opera?

Yes I've about 340 bookmarks & I opened those plus another 45 speedial pages.
Then I opened the Independent & selected all the links from the Links panel and opened them into background pages & then bookmarked all open pages into a new folder.I then opened that folder which contained 649 tabs with open in background pages.
So there are 649 pages opened twice to make up 1298 page's.
All options in Preferences/Advanced/History were set to off.

Perhaps we can start a thread to see who is able to open the most tabs in a particular browser given a particular amount of RAM.

Seriously, 200+ tabs guys. Have you ever done this for real...had a need for this much. I get about 10 tabs open and I have to start closing them down.

Just checking out the limits & learning the best settings in preference's.
I guess memory is the limiting factor my CPU was only around 12% .
I sometimes get up to 50 tabs open I tend to middle click on links a lot to read later.
Besides Opera 11 is an Alpha build I had a lot of problems with some earlier builds moving toolbars around but this build seems pretty solid.

Well I only have a max of 10 tabs open, but my friend who loves to edit pics(and thus getting a lot of pics on the internet) almost always has 50+ tabs open. For me, its just not right to open a lot of tabs, I mean do you have the capacity to read/watch them all?XD

For me, IE9 uses surprisingly less memory than any other browser under the same conditions. Numbers don't matter much, though, anyway. Loving IE9 more each day ^_^
