if you install ff as is, there is absolutely no defense for privacy users
I realize ff gets a nice chunk from google to add them as a search engine, but somehow I have a feeling they have more of a backdoor or partnership with ff and they are no longer pro privacy as they used to be.
I think its by default made to be this way. if they were so privacy focused, it wouldnt need so much "hardening" and even then I feel it doesnt matter and it goes through the backdoor, like MS has led google through with windows 11 and not much to do. as much as I try to get away from google fb and even keep ms at bay by never upgrading from w7, I think its a lost battle. like trying to catch water through a seive.
I also feel duckduckgo has also gone this route.
