Solved How to assign mouse buttons

Hi,

I have had a look but can't find anything

I have the 'World of Warcraft Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse' but i'm struggling to figure out a way to assign the buttons to Windows/Explorer commands such as:

• Browser Forward
• Browser Back
• ...

I have sorted it for the WOW game but would like to create a new profile for general use in windows.

Was there any documentation that came along with the mouse?

I am hoping of course that you do have the SteelSeries Mouse.

Thank you for your reply Anak.

I have seen that manual but the software it refers to only gives me options to bind keys for World of Warcraft which i have already done for in-game play.

This doesn't allow me (or at least i cant see where it does allow me) to assign functions such as Browser navigation for general use in Windows.

Found this:

To program buttons you can either drag and drop the commands to the buttons designated spot, or highlight the command and press the button you want the action to correspond to.
You can assign pre-programmed Game Commands, Profiles, Custom Macros, and different mouse sensitivities to buttons.

I can confirm that it is possible to bind standard keyboard keystrokes, such as Shift or Shift+Ctrl to the buttons on the mouse. You can do this by creating a custom macro (takes seconds) and binding that command to a particular mouse button. All this can be done using the software provided with the mouse.

They do not make it easy, but then again that is a lot of mouse. :shock:

I have now managed to figure it out
If it helps anyone else out in future then...

Basically, it is done through the 'Custom Macros' option.

Button assignment -> Custom Macros -> New
Select the record delay option, input the commands as you normally would on screen. Save the macro and exit the macro manager.

This macro will apply to whatever button you chose to edit and it will also show up in the button assignment -> "custom macros" section so you can apply it to any key.

Example
I did...

Button assignment -> Custom Macros -> New -> Give it a name -> I then Selected the record delay option and then pressed CTRL+C on the keyboard.

(Change the bold red command to whatever you would like)

Not in as such great detail, I only tried to expand the ground rules in order to help you see the path.
