How to balance sound?

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked somewhere else on the forums, but I've done a fairly thorough search and can't seem to find this issue anywhere else.

Recently I purchased a new Gateway, running Windows 7 Premium Home edition, and it has the Realtek sound card in it. On my old computer which was running XP, when you clicked on the sound icon a window came up with a bunch of sliders in which you can adjust the volume and balance. I can't find any similar window for the Windows 7 operating system. When I right click on the speaker icon a window comes up which offers a number of different options, but none of them bring up a window where I can adjust the balance of the speakers. It seems that all I can adjust is the volume. In "Playback Devices" The checked item is Speakers, which are described as "Realtek High Definition Audio."

Can anyone tell me if there is such a window or control panel in the Windows 7 operating system.

Thank you.

GREAT!!! Thank you very much. Now, if I can only figure out how to get the mic input to show up in the Stereo Mixer, I'll be all set!
