How to capture a 2 min clip/scene from a movie?

There is a 2 minute clip/scene in a movie that I would like to be able to capture.

What would I use to do this & how?

You can use DVD Cutter for that. I believe the trial version allows upto 5 mins per clip.

Ok it seems to work, but I cant get it down perfect for the scene I want.

I have it setup under trip for the start/stop time perfectly, but when it goes to the conversion it still cuts out part of my trimmed section?

Instead of the 1:49 trimmed clipped I should have, I get a 54 second finished clip instead?

Funny, works fine for me.
Anyway, there are a few other alternatives

hmm I will try another one after a little more work with the one I've already downloaded.

Does anyone else have an idea what I would be doing wrong in DVD cutter?

The screen shot shows everything should be checked right correct?

I was at first trying to save it in .mpeg4 and then tried .wmv to see if it would cut the scene better but it still didnt?

I don't know about that program but you can also do that with Windows Live Movie Maker, Just FYI.

hmm I dont know why it still wouldnt work, but I basically just extended the cropped clip to a longer scene & eventually got the exact scene I wanted as an .avi divx

I guess the quality seems pretty good? Does DVD cutter usually pull a good quality clip?

Would any of those other programs give me a better product in the end?

If it is just a one off job that you are doing then download a trial verson of a good Video Editor. You will then be able to choose the format of the finished clip. Indeed the Prog I use regularly will save the clip to the same format as the original so you will loose no quality at all. You coulld even apply a filter or two that might even improve the quality. I should say enhance the quality as you really cannot make the clip a better quality that the original. I wish that were possible.
