How to clean up compressed files?

When I go into XP and run Disk Cleanup, I get an option to clean up Compressed Files which tend to be as big as 2GB to 3 GB!

Since I have a small HDD, space is at a premium.

When I run Vista's or Windows 7's Disk Cleanup, I never get that option. I always have to go into XP to clean up compressed files!

Is there any way to get Disk Cleanup to show the option to remove compressed files?

Is it also because I have my XP running on a FAT32 partition compared to Vista / Win 7 which itself is on NTFS?

Or is it because XP is on a completely separate HDD?

Well, geez! Over a week has passed and no answer?

C'mon guys!

I even tried the Extended Disk Cleanup which I got from Vistax64.com, but no use!

Tha option in Disk Cleanup was thought of as very time consuming and in-efficient. If you really want to get rid of such files, you might want to download CCLeaner from www.ccleaner.com It is very powerful and fast and can also scan your registry for problems. Hope this Helps

I am already using CCleaner and I love it! But even CCleaner does not have thae option I am searching for!

Alright, But either way the option is no longer available, Though once Disk Cleanup scans your disk and is at the part where you select what you want removed, Click "Cleanup System Files". This allows you to free up much more space (20 Gb more for me ).
