Solved How to delete administrator for welcome screen?

I tried net user administrator/active: no

But I had no luck. Instead, I got this message --

The syntax of this command is:
NET USER
[username [password |*] [options] [/DOMAIN]
username {password | *} /ADD [options] [/DOMAIN]
username [/DELETE] [/DOMAIN]
username [/TIMES: {times | ALL}

How can I disable the administrator from the welcome screen?

You almost got it, but the command should be this below instead.

net user administrator /active:no

Thanks, Shawn, but I got "system error 5 has occurred" Access is denied.

That would be from not using a elevated command prompt. You will just need to right click on the cmd shortcut and click on "Run as administrator".

I did run it as administrator to no avail. Here is how it looks in elevate command prompt --

C:\Users\my name>net user administrator /active:no

Then, when I click on my computer, I get System 5 error.

You're not using "Run as administrator" if you have C:\Users\(your name) in the commmand prompt. Click on the link below to see if you may be doing something wrong.

Are you, perchance, logged in as Administrator and trying to disable it?

should look like:

C:\Windows\system32>net user administrator /active:no

Note that the root of the prompt is not C:\Users\username>

If you are a user with administrative privileges, try calling the Task Manager from a right-click on the Taskbar, then under the applications tab, select New Task... and type:

cmd

enter

then, at the elevated command prompt conjured up, type your command
