how to disable 'EDIT' button in Security Tab

hi thr i hv a portable drive which is having very imp data in it, i want to make it only readable for users and nothing else should be enabled for them, so i tried right clicking on the drive and selected properties option and in dialog box i selected the security tab and edited the permissions for the users thr, but the problem is this after saving those permissions still anybody can change the permissions for that drive as that edit button was still enabled. i want to know is thr any option using which i can make this EDIT button disabled so that no one can change the access permission accept me or else plz provide me with some alternate solution.

Just as a thought, you could place your data on a SkyDrive and restrict rights to edit data.

Hello Lovenish, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Only an administrator will be able to "edit" security permissions. If the other users are administrators, then nothing you do will completely prevent them from just being able to undo any changes you made since they will still have the same amount of access as you do as administrators. They would need to be "standard users" instead of administrators to truly be able to prevent them from being able to. :(
