How to download Windows Live Mail 2010

I downloaded windows live mail earlier today and noticed it was 2011 version. The main reason I don't want that version - first, the look is ugly, second, we can't put stationery in it. It does not have the format button on top to download stationery, and I really enjoy doing that with my friends, especially during holidays.

When I went out to download Windows Live 2010, it kept giving me 2011 or it came to this discussion board. So hi there, can you help me? I uninstalled the 2011 version, and actually uninstalled all of Windows Live Essentials 2011. Did I remove too much or can you still help me get the mail version I'm looking for?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Linda :D

Officially, it's the 2009 version of WLE (last updated in early 2010). Make sure you don't have any part of the 2011 suite of programs from Windows Live Essentials, since there is no mixing of components from the two suites. Also, do not install Messenger at all, since that requires the 2011 version.

Ok, I will attempt downloading the 2009 Windows Mail - there is a Windows Essentials 2009 - should I skip that and just download the mail portion?

I downloaded the Windows Live Mail 2009 version and found some default stationery. When I downloaded more from Cloudeight, I don't know where it went, it wasn't where my other stationery was and it wasn't in the c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\stationery either. How do I set up where the stationery should be installed to?

Does anyone know how to set a default where the stationery should go? The 2011 version has a setting for this!

Here have a look at this one...you can do all sorts of stationary, themes and what not. There is a free version and a paid version. I have the paid version...it was well worth if for me.

Merry Christmas!

Oh, this is Incredimail - I have it on my desktop computer, but it won't load on my laptop, don't know why. It was on once, but then I had trouble so uninstalled it. After that I tried to reinstall and it would not send or receive emails. That's why I'm switching email programs so much. I'd love to have IncrediMail back, if I could figure out why it wouldn't download.

Looks like to choose stationary it browses to "<username>/Documents/Stationary", so I imagine that's where you would place other compatible stationary files.

Would you know why IncrediMail 2.0 won't install right on my computer - I had beta 2.5 on here, which works fine, then uninstalled it. Now when I load 2.0, it won't send and receive mail. I want the 2.0 version so I can use the 3D Magic on it.

Where do I find the version number, and will it work on my computer? Like I said, when I downloaded 2.0 it wouldn't send or receive emails, and I didn't even try to download 3D magic with that version until I got it working right.

This page: IncrediMail's Version Details
says the latest version is: "Version 6.29 build 5006" which is probably what you get with the "click here" link on that page.

This page:Download IncrediMail
has System Requirements
Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.
MS Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

thank you - I will give it a try again later today since I have other commitments this morning. Sure hope it works as far as sending and receiving mail, because the other 2.0 didn't after having had the beta 2.5 on the computer.
