Solved How to edit/delete "Comments" in Excel 2010 Starter?

I'm working with a 1997-2003 Compatibility View spreadsheet in Excel Starter and I use Comments (the little windows to pop-up when you hover the mouse over a cell) throughout.

I don't see how to edit or delete them, when I right-click, it only gives me "show/hide" them.

Hi,

Try showing it, then click inside the comment box and start editing.

Thanks very much Golden. I also found out you can delete the Comment entirely.

But how to create a new one? Comments are not supported in Excel 2010?

'Excel Starter 2010' does not support this feature.

I work a lot with Comments on some old workbooks, is there a way to add a description on specific cells? Which alternative way would you choose?

I tried but was unable to find any work-around to insert comments in 'Excel Starter 2010'.

Only an 'upgraded version' of 'Office' offers that feature. Alternatively you may want to explore Apache OpenOffice - The Free and Open Productivity Suite (Available for free download). It includes a 'spreadsheet software' called 'Calc' and may serve the purpose.
