Solved How to enlarge picture preview box

How to enlarge preview pane box? I can't read my documents because the preview pane box is too small. Thanks.

This is what I get



Try a jpg file and see what that shows.
I get a "No Preview available" message for a .doc document. OK for all images , .rtf iles and .pdf.

EDIT: Have just found this "The preview handlers of office 2003 are not compatible with Windows 7." And I use Office 2003 so that explains the message!

Think I may have found a solution.
Open Windows Explorer and click on the PDF file in your screenshot so that your screen looks the same as your screenshot.
Click "Tools" Click "Folder Options" in the windows that opens, the click the "View" tab. Scroll down and check the box next to "Show preview handlers in preview pane"
Click "Apply" and your preview pane should now show a large image.
Now click "OK"

Brink if you have a minute to spare could you uncheck the box in your system and see if that makes PDF images in the preview pane small?

Unfortunately, that option would only turn on or off showing the contents of say text files in the Preview pane.

I noticed that the OP's file that was the source of the problem was a PDF file. I previewed a pdf file with the aforementioned box checked and got this:



I then checked the box and got this:

Hmm, interesting. May be related to the default program used to open .pdf files with.

I use Foxit as the default PDF program. I have another PC with 7 installed so will set that up tomorrow and set Adobe Reader as the default program and see what that does with/without the box checked. Don't want to interfere with the default setting on my main machine as I think Adobe Reader can be a bit of a PITA!

Hi Brink
Have tried on my other PC using Acrobat Reader and get large image with box ticked and the message "Preview Unavailable" with it unchecked. So I guess you are right (again) when you say it is dependent on the default program which is Foxit in my case and also on the OP's screenshot it sows the Foxit icon. Be interesting to hear from him but he seems to have left us.
