Hi folks,
I have a Windows Mobile phone. Every time I connect my device to PC and when I run the Windows Mobile Device Center I get the following message "There si no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." After clicking OK everything runs fine.
This is related to mail. So I have posted it here. I don't have any mail program installed. No thunderbird no default windows mail etc. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Any help on how to get rid of the message box without installing any mail program will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Gaurav Kumar

From what I've read, your issue just seems to be a bug in WMDC currently :/ Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update/release, but perhaps not since Windows Mobile is to be superseded by Windows Phone 7 Series. In that case, I may have a workaround for you: Affixa is a lightweight program that can set browser-based Gmail as your default email client in Windows. It's possible this may satisfy WMDC's default email client check when syncing/starting up. Please let me know if it helps, or if there's anything else I can do.

Cheers,

Thanks a lot. It did look like that Affixa should fix the problem but I'm afraid WMDC still reports the same message.
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your taking the time to help me out.

It depends on what code WMDC scans for when trying to find a mail problem. (I've never had WM myself.) You could be able to spoof one with a useless program that simply connects to the mail server then disconnects.

Sure thing, I'm sorry that solution didn't work out though. Perhaps someone else will have more ideas about what can be done.
