How to Keep Windows 8 Graphical Bootloader

Hello,
I just installed windows 8 on a second partition, alongside win7. Everything went fine this time throughout the whole dualboot install, but i have a question.

The new graphical windows 8 bootloader is really nice, but when i go into the settings and change the default os to win7, the old boring text based bootloader is used instead.

Basically i want to have windows 7 as the default os, but still have the nice graphic bootloader of win8.
Thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply,
will this wipe anything, and will it keep win7 as my default os?

Why would you want that ? It`s just an extra step and more time to get to 7. What do you have the timer set to before it goes to 7 ?

I want it so that when i turn on my PC, i am greeted with the GUI based win 8 boot loader which will let me choose win7 or win8. I don't see how this would be an extra step. Also the timer is set to 30 seconds.

My problem is that when i change the default os to win7, my pc starts using the windows 7 bootloader (text based) instead of the win8 bootloader with a GUI.
I know it really isnt that big of an issue, but I'd like a nicer looking boot loader, while having win7 as my default if possible.

But if you set your timer to 5 seconds ( all you should need ) then you won`t even notice it.

Did you try the suggestion theog gave you ?

I don't care about the time. I want a bootloader....just not the ugly win7 one.
Ill try doing a refresh when i get home, butwill that erase anything?
Also wouldnta refresh make win8 the default?

I want win7 as default operating system, but the windows 8 boot loader.

You`d have to experiment, in the past, when I regrettably installed 7 & 8 in a dual boot, changing 7 to the default always gave the windows 7 bootloader.

I hate 8 :(

Could we start a thread titled " Why I hate 8 in 5 words or less " LOL

lol, i was actually surprised with win8. its not as bad as i thought it would be.
its fast and once you get past the annoyance of the metro ui screen, its quite good.

Why do you hate it?

as for the bootloader issue, ive kind of moved past it. It really isnt too much of a problem.
Now im trying to concentrate on how to make my win8 partition bigger because i actually like it.
