How to know what drivers you will need for clean install.

Greg I'm sorry, but I either do not know how to get to that info or it is omitted in my bios. It says it is the bios and there I can change the boot order and run check disk ect. Yet on the system info page there is no listing of my HD. It lists my MOBo and other things about my computer but not the settings for sata or Ide or controllers or anything like that.
I was assuming the whole time that when you said Bios that I was in the correct place.

I sure would like to know how to access that info that you have been talking about. So please teach me.

Greg this is why I couldn't get the info you requested. I copied this from another site. This is when I decided to restart and access BIOS, only to find out Phoenix BIOS has limited access I have the same bios set up by phoenix. Hp uses phoenix in many of there models. I thought you would like to know.

I realize that I was horribly wrong about the hard drive having to be a Hitachi. Yet I am not convinced yet that there is some kind of Hybred set up with my HD. It says I have IDE controllers when I ran several benchmarking programs. \

It says my HD is ATA which= IDE. yet in plugs in like a sata. Oh well I have learned that Laptops are all MUTTS and many parts are not interchangeable.

I just want to thank you and Theog for your patience and help. I know I am an Idiot and do not know very much and it can get frustrating sometimes. Thanks again I have learned allot from you and Theog. I learned I'm hard headed also


BTW I have more wake and sleep and boot errors than I had before. Just changed out the Nividea driver so we see.
