How to make a DVD from AVI & SRT?

Hello all, can you be of some help?

I have a old Russian film (Mrazik aka Father Frost its amazing for the year and its funny) in AVI and the English subtitles for it in SRT, they work great on my laptop but I cannot copy them to DVD as I would love my Mother to see this film.

Can it be copied - burnt so it can play on a home DVD player?

Thanks for the info,

funny thing I tried before to do it with ImageBurn and Windows, but it did not work. This time it worked, though not with Windows DVD Maker whcih opened first, so I closed that and opened Explorer
