I would like to map the ports that are on my desktop machine it seems often when I plug something in I get the message that it'll go faster if put in usb 2.0. I have enhanced usb listed in the device manager. I just need to be able to identify which are which.

TIA Douglas

Belkin Hub To Go F5U706
Not sure how you would identify USB ports. It's a trick question. That's because the motherboard will have 1 or more USB Hubs on the board. One Hub usually will have 2 or 4 ports connected to it. All of the USB ports that are connected to a particular Hub would perform the same. So you are really asking "how do I identify my Hubs?".

It is highly unlikely, unless this is an old (1998 - 2000) box, that it would have one USB1.1 Hub and then another USB2.0 Hub. Since USB standards are all backward compatible it would make almost no sense for a manufacturer to do this.

More likely, you are getting that message for some other reason.

This is a nice explanation of all the possible causes of an incorrect "your device can perform faster" message from Windows:
Resolving USB Speed Issues, "This Device Can Perform Faster" Error
In most cases today it is not due to having older USB1.1 ports at all.
